Chapter Implementation of Programs

Since 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has implemented programs of service impacting many lives. The 2018-2022 International Program focuses on Exemplifying Excellence through Sustainable Service. The members of Chi Sigma Omega Chapter along with members of other Alpha Kappa Alpha chapters will address community needs with programs in the five target areas:

Target 2: Women’s Healthcare and Wellness
Target 3: Building Your Economic Legacy
  Target 4: The Arts!

Target 1: HBCU: A Call to Action: The members of Chi Sigma Omega Chapter will continue to focus on education with an emphasis on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The main focus will be on Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention, Heart Health, Nutrition and Wellness, and Care for the Caregivers.

Target 3: Building Your Economic Legacy: The members of Chi Sigma Omega will provide opportunities for the community to learn about financial planning, asset accumulation, and wealth building including saving and investment, managing debt, improving credit, supporting and promoting African American owned businesses through entrepreneurship and “The Black Dollar 365”.

Target 4: The Arts! The members of Chi Sigma Omega will expose students to arts enrichment and culture by focusing on the visual and performing arts and celebrating the contributions of African American artists during the Harlem Renaissance and current time.
