Chi Sigma Omega was chartered on December 5, 2004 in Bolingbrook, Illinois for the purpose of servicing communities in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.

Chi Sigma Omega is a local graduate chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha’s
Confident, Competent, Classy, Caring and Capable Central Region.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is an international service organization founded in 1908 at Howard University in Washington D.C.  The sorority was organized by and for African American college-trained women.  A legacy of commitment to academic excellence and service to all mankind has been the mantra for which the members have served for over a century.
